I’m so grateful to share that Netflix has contributed $50,000 to our Typhoon Yagi Relief Fundraiser.
In less than 48 hours, Vietflixers together with VietBay (Disclosure: I'm a board member) have raised more than $90,000 to aid victims of the strongest storm in Vietnam’s recorded history.
More than half of the money was from Netflix’s super generous charity matching program. The rest came from VietBay’s members and friends.
This is not the first time Netflix has aided Vietnamese during difficult times. During the pandemic, Netflix contributed more than $100,000 to our fundraiser to buy food, medicine and equipment for COVID victims and medical workers. I’m gonna binge watch Netflix tomorrow even though it's a Monday, as a token of appreciation!
VietBay BoD has immediately disbursed $25,000 to our trusted partner VNHelp, whose staff is going to restore 10 schools in Luc Yen, Yen Bai (100 miles north of Hanoi). The photos below was taken yesterday at the Minh Chuẩn và Tân Lập schools in the area.

Typhoon Yagi has killed more than 270 people, and is estimated to cause Vietnam more than $1.6B in damage. If you want to help, please consider making a donation.
Please include “Typhoon Yagi Relief” in your contribution.
